Cyd dengue virus serotype 1 live (attenuated) antigen is a component of the tetravalent, live attenuated chimeric dengue vaccine known as CYD-TDV or Dengvaxia. This biologic is engineered by replacing the pre-membrane (prM) and envelope (E) genes of the yellow fever 17D strain with those from each of the four dengue virus serotypes, including type 1. The resulting vaccine induces immunity against all four major types of dengue viruses. Its mechanism involves stimulating an immune response to generate neutralizing antibodies against each included serotype, thereby providing protection against subsequent infection. However, it may increase risk for severe disease in individuals not previously exposed to any dengue virus due to antibody-dependent enhancement. The primary indication is prevention of dengue fever and its complications in endemic regions for individuals with prior exposure to any form of the virus[2][5][6][8].
