Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CYP-001 + corticosteroids is a combination therapy being developed by Cynata Therapeutics for the treatment of high-risk acute graft versus host disease (aGvHD). CYP-001 is the lead product candidate from Cynata's proprietary Cymerus platform, consisting of off-the-shelf, induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). These MSCs are intended to exert immunomodulatory effects by reducing inflammation and restoring immune balance in patients where donor immune cells attack recipient tissues following allogeneic stem cell transplantation. Corticosteroids, such as prednisone or methylprednisolone, serve as the standard-of-care anti-inflammatory component of the regimen. The combination is currently being evaluated in a Phase 2 randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study to assess its efficacy and safety compared to corticosteroids alone.
