Overview

CYR212 (AAV version) is an engineered IgG protease (IdeS enzyme) developed by Cyrus Biotechnology to facilitate the delivery of adeno-associated virus (AAV) gene therapies. Derived from *Streptococcus pyogenes* and optimized using an AI-driven platform for extended half-life and reduced immunogenicity, the enzyme functions by rapidly degrading immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies. In the context of gene therapy, it is specifically used to deplete anti-AAV neutralizing antibodies that would otherwise prevent the viral vector from reaching its target cells. This "gene therapy enabler" application aims to expand the eligible patient population for AAV-based treatments and potentially allow for redosing by clearing pre-existing or treatment-induced antibodies.
