Overview
CYT004-MelQbG10 is a therapeutic virus-like particle (VLP) vaccine developed to target melanoma, specifically in HLA-A2 positive patients with advanced (stage III/IV) malignant melanoma. The active component, CYT004-MelQbG10, consists of a VLP derived from the coat protein of bacteriophage Qβ and loaded with the CpG oligonucleotide "G10," designed to enhance immune activation. The mechanism involves modulation of MAGEA1 (Melanoma-associated antigen 1), aiming to induce an anti-tumor immune response against melanoma cells expressing this antigen[1][5]. Montanide acts as an adjuvant to further stimulate the immune system, while imiquimod is a topical immunomodulator that activates innate immunity via TLR7 signaling. This combination has been evaluated in clinical trials for its safety and immunogenicity in advanced melanoma patients[4][8].
