Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination therapy comprising three components: **CYT107** is a glycosylated recombinant form of human interleukin 7, a cytokine essential for T-cell development and survival. It acts as an immunomodulator by promoting lymphocyte recovery and enhancing immune function, particularly in conditions of lymphopenia such as after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation or in severe viral infections like COVID‑19. Developed by Cytheris and later Revimmune, it has been studied for use in diseases characterized by T-cell deficiency, including progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy and COVID‑19[1][2][4][5][8]. **GenHevac B Pasteur vaccine** is a recombinant hepatitis B vaccine containing both the S and preS2 antigens of the hepatitis B virus surface antigen. It induces seroconversion and seroprotection against hepatitis B infection, especially in populations with compromised immunity such as chronic uremic patients[6]. **Entecavir or tenofovir** are small molecule antiviral drugs classified as nucleoside/nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitors. They inhibit replication of the hepatitis B virus by blocking reverse transcription during viral DNA synthesis. Both are approved treatments for chronic hepatitis B infection[7]. The combination may be considered for clinical scenarios involving immune reconstitution (via IL‑7), prophylaxis or treatment against HBV infection (via GenHevac vaccination), and direct antiviral suppression of HBV replication (via entecavir or tenofovir).
