Cytidine-5'-triphosphate (CTP) is a pyrimidine nucleoside triphosphate that serves as an essential building block for RNA synthesis and acts as a high-energy molecule in various biosynthetic pathways. It is involved in the synthesis of RNA by RNA polymerases, functions as a coenzyme in glycerophospholipid biosynthesis (notably phosphatidylcholine), and participates in protein glycosylation. CTP also acts as an agonist at certain purinergic receptors, such as P2X receptors. In clinical or experimental settings, it has been used to support nerve cell membrane repair and regeneration, promote neurite outgrowth, and aid recovery after neural injury[1][2][6]. It is not approved for therapeutic use but may be found in research or laboratory applications.
