Drug intelligence / Profile preview
D-0120 + allopurinol is an investigational combination therapy being studied for the treatment of gout. D-0120 is a novel oral selective uric acid transporter 1 (URAT1) inhibitor that works by blocking the reabsorption of uric acid in the renal proximal tubule, thereby reducing serum uric acid concentrations. Allopurinol is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor that reduces the production of uric acid in the body. The combination aims to provide more effective serum urate lowering than either agent alone by targeting both production and reabsorption pathways. This combination is currently being evaluated in phase II clinical trials for adult patients with gout who have had inadequate response to standard urate-lowering therapy[4][5][6].
