D-CIK + anti-PD-1 antibody is a combination immunotherapy approach that integrates dendritic cell-activated cytokine-induced killer (D-CIK) cells with programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) inhibitors. This therapy leverages two complementary immunotherapeutic strategies:\n\n1. **D-CIK Component**: Dendritic cells (DCs) are combined with cytokine-induced killer (CIK) cells, which are ex vivo expanded immune effector cells with both T-cell and natural killer (NK) cell properties. These cells demonstrate non-MHC-restricted cytotoxicity against various cancer types.\n\n2. **Anti-PD-1 Component**: PD-1 inhibitors (such as nivolumab or pembrolizumab) block the interaction between PD-1 on T cells and PD-L1 on cancer cells, preventing the cancer cells from evading immune detection.\n\nThe combination has shown enhanced anti-tumor efficacy compared to either therapy alone, with studies demonstrating that anti-PD-1 treatment increases DC-CIK cell proliferation and strengthens their tumor-killing ability. Clinical trials have shown promising results, particularly in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and other solid tumors.
