Overview
**d-cycloserine + lurasidone** is an investigational oral fixed-dose combination developed as NRX-101 for severe bipolar depression with acute or subacute suicidal ideation or behavior. D-cycloserine is a dose-dependent N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor modulator, while lurasidone is an atypical antipsychotic whose principal pharmacology includes serotonin 5-HT2A and dopamine D2 receptor antagonism. The combination is intended to sustain antidepressant and antisuicidal effects while lurasidone may reduce D-cycloserine-associated psychomimetic effects. NRx Pharmaceuticals has also explored the product in treatment-resistant depression with transcranial magnetic stimulation, chronic pain, and complicated urinary tract infection including pyelonephritis.
