Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DA + CPT-KK is a modular, nanoscale drug delivery platform composed of camptothecin (CPT) conjugated to a dilysine (KK) peptide, which self-assembles into nanotubes. These nanotubes are further stabilized by a layer of polydopamine (DA/PDA). The system is designed to deliver camptothecin, a potent DNA topoisomerase I inhibitor, to cancer cells. The polydopamine coating provides structural stability and serves as a versatile surface for the attachment of targeting moieties, such as antibody fragments. In preclinical studies, this platform has demonstrated enhanced cytotoxicity against TAG-72-expressing colon cancer cells when functionalized with specific targeting ligands like anti-TAG-72 scFv.
