Dabigatran is an oral anticoagulant used to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation. It is also indicated for the treatment and prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), including after hip replacement surgery. Dabigatran acts as a direct thrombin inhibitor by reversibly binding to the active site of thrombin, thereby preventing the conversion of fibrinogen to fibrin and inhibiting clot formation[1][4][5][6][8]. Pitavastatin is an oral lipid-lowering agent used together with diet, weight loss, and exercise to reduce levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and other fatty substances in the blood. It belongs to the statin class (HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors) and works by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, a key enzyme involved in cholesterol synthesis[2].
