Overview
Daclatasvir + peginterferon alfa-2a + ribavirin is an **oral/ injectable antiviral combination regimen** used in the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. **Daclatasvir** is a small molecule inhibitor of the HCV NS5A protein, disrupting viral RNA replication and virion assembly. **Peginterferon alfa-2a** is a pegylated recombinant interferon that induces immune response and enhances antiviral activity via interferon-alpha receptor stimulation, and **ribavirin** is a nucleoside analog with broad-spectrum antiviral effects. Together, this combination acts by inhibiting multiple stages of the HCV life cycle and augmenting host immune activity. It has shown efficacy particularly in HCV genotype 1 and 4 infections, achieving improved sustained virologic response rates compared to peginterferon alfa-2a/ribavirin alone, and was in phase 2/3 development for these indications[1][2][3].
