Overview

This combination therapy consists of dalpiciclib and toremifene, currently being investigated for the treatment of advanced breast cancer. Dalpiciclib (also known as SHR6390) is a small molecule inhibitor of cyclin-dependent kinases 4 and 6 (CDK4/6), developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals to block cell cycle progression from the G1 to the S phase. Toremifene is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) that serves as an endocrine therapy by competing with estrogen for binding sites in target tissues. The combination is being evaluated in a Phase II clinical trial led by the Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital as a first-line treatment for patients with hormone receptor-positive (HR+), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative (HER2-) metastatic breast cancer.
