Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dan'e Fukang Jiangao is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Yunnan Shengke Pharmaceutical (later acquired by Bayer through Dihon Pharmaceutical). It is a botanical extract composed of multiple herbal ingredients, including Salvia miltiorrhiza (Danshen), Curcuma phaeocaulis (Ezhu), Sparganium stoloniferum, Bupleurum chinense, Angelica sinensis, Glycyrrhiza uralensis, Corydalis yanhusuo, Paeonia lactiflora (Radix Paeoniae Rubra), and Cyperus rotundus. It was the first TCM drug to receive national approval in China for the treatment of endometriosis. The formulation works by promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, and soothing the liver according to TCM principles. Pharmacologically, it has been shown to modulate immune functions by enhancing cellular immunity and reducing humoral immunity. It is primarily used for the treatment of endometriosis, dysmenorrhea, and ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS).
