Overview
Danazol + iguratimod is a combination therapy consisting of two small molecule drugs, danazol and iguratimod. Danazol is a synthetic androgen with immunosuppressive properties, commonly used in the treatment of immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) and other autoimmune conditions. Iguratimod is an antirheumatic agent widely used in China and Japan for rheumatoid arthritis and has demonstrated immunomodulatory effects by modulating T-cell differentiation. The combination targets both platelet production (danazol) and immune-mediated platelet destruction (iguratimod), providing a synergistic "double-hit" mechanism for treating corticosteroid-resistant or relapsed ITP. Clinical studies have shown that this regimen achieves higher response rates compared to danazol monotherapy, with good tolerability[1][2][4].
