Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of danazol (a synthetic steroid with antigonadotropic and anti-estrogenic activities) and prednisone (a corticosteroid). This combination is primarily used in the treatment of primary myelofibrosis (PMF) and anemia, with or without red blood cell transfusion dependence. The combination has shown improved efficacy compared to either component alone, with studies demonstrating better response rates and prolonged response duration in patients with PMF and anemia.
