Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Danshen + Glucose (also known as Danshen-glucose injection) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) injectable formulation consisting of an extract of *Salvia miltiorrhiza* (Danshen) dissolved in a glucose solution carrier. Danshen is the primary active herbal ingredient, recognized for its cardiovascular pharmacological properties, including anti-myocardial ischemia, anti-inflammatory, and antithrombotic effects. The drug is administered intravenously and is indicated for the treatment of cardiovascular conditions such as coronary artery disease, angina pectoris, and myocardial infarction. It works by improving microcirculation, inhibiting platelet aggregation, and protecting the myocardium from ischemic damage. Harbin Gloria Pharmaceuticals has conducted Phase 1 clinical safety studies (e.g., CTR20130943) to evaluate the tolerability and safe dose range of this formulation in healthy adult volunteers.
