Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Danzhi Qing'e is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula developed by the Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of menopausal syndrome (perimenopausal syndrome). It is a modified version of the classic 'Qing'e Wan' formula, specifically incorporating *Cortex Moutan* (Danpi) and *Fructus Gardeniae* (Zhizi) to address symptoms associated with 'kidney deficiency and liver fire' in TCM theory. The formula typically consists of *Psoralea corylifolia*, *Eucommia ulmoides*, *Juglans regia*, *Paeonia suffruticosa*, and *Gardenia jasminoides*. Mechanistically, Danzhi Qing'e acts as a phytoestrogen complex that modulates the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian (HPO) axis, regulates serum levels of estradiol (E2), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), and luteinizing hormone (LH), and interacts with estrogen receptors to alleviate vasomotor symptoms, insomnia, and mood disturbances associated with menopause.
