Overview

Dapagliflozin + digoxin is a **combination of two small molecule drugs**: dapagliflozin, a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor primarily used to treat type 2 diabetes, heart failure, and chronic kidney disease; and digoxin, a cardiac glycoside used for heart failure and atrial fibrillation. Dapagliflozin acts by inhibiting SGLT2 in the proximal renal tubules, reducing glucose reabsorption and promoting urinary glucose excretion. Digoxin inhibits sodium-potassium ATPase, leading to increased intracellular calcium in cardiac cells and enhancing cardiac contractility. There is **no clinically meaningful pharmacokinetic or pharmacodynamic interaction** between dapagliflozin and digoxin. This combination may be co-prescribed in clinical practice for patients with comorbid heart failure and diabetes, but is **not available as a fixed-dose combination product** and does not have a unique branded name[1][2][5].
