Drug intelligence / Profile preview
N0892 is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) therapy developed by Eurofarma for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It combines two oral antihyperglycemic agents with complementary mechanisms of action: dapagliflozin, a sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, and sitagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor. Dapagliflozin reduces blood glucose by inhibiting the reabsorption of glucose in the proximal renal tubules, leading to its excretion in the urine. Sitagliptin works by inhibiting the DPP-4 enzyme, which prevents the degradation of incretin hormones such as GLP-1 and GIP, thereby enhancing glucose-dependent insulin secretion and suppressing glucagon release. This combination is typically utilized in patients who do not achieve adequate glycemic control with metformin monotherapy. N0892 has been evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials and is marketed in Brazil under the brand name Dapaglipt.
