Overview
JY302 is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) small molecule therapy developed by Jinyang Pharmaceutical for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It consists of dapagliflozin, a sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, and sitagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor. Dapagliflozin reduces blood glucose by inhibiting its reabsorption in the proximal tubules of the kidney, thereby promoting urinary glucose excretion. Sitagliptin enhances glycemic control by inhibiting the DPP-4 enzyme, which increases the levels of active incretin hormones, leading to increased insulin secretion and decreased glucagon production in a glucose-dependent manner. This dual mechanism provides complementary effects on blood sugar regulation. JY302 was approved by the South Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) in March 2023 under the brand name Dapazin S.
