Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DAPAHEER-VG is an oral fixed-dose combination therapy containing the sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor dapagliflozin and the dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor vildagliptin. It is developed by Maksun Biotech and is approved in India for the management of glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Dapagliflozin works by reducing renal glucose reabsorption, thereby promoting urinary glucose excretion, while vildagliptin enhances insulin secretion and suppresses glucagon release by inhibiting the degradation of incretin hormones. Together, they provide a complementary mechanism of action to lower blood glucose levels.
