Overview
A combination of two oral antidiabetic drugs, dapagliflozin and voglibose, used in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. **Dapagliflozin** is a selective sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor that reduces renal glucose reabsorption, thereby increasing glucose excretion in the urine. **Voglibose** is an α-glucosidase inhibitor that delays carbohydrate digestion and absorption in the intestine, attenuating postprandial blood glucose spikes. Both drugs act independently of insulin secretion and primarily aim to improve glycemic control. Studies in Japanese patients with type 2 diabetes showed that co-administration of dapagliflozin and voglibose does not require dose adjustment of either agent and is well-tolerated[1][2][4].
