Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BCD-066 is a biosimilar of darbepoetin alfa developed by Biocad for the treatment of anemia, particularly in patients with chronic kidney disease and those undergoing chemotherapy for cancer. Darbepoetin alfa is a recombinant erythropoietin that stimulates erythropoiesis by acting as an agonist at the erythropoietin receptor, leading to increased production of red blood cells in the bone marrow. Clinical studies have demonstrated pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic equivalence between BCD-066 and the reference product Aranesp (Amgen). The drug has completed Phase III clinical trials in Russia for anemia associated with chronic kidney disease and oncology indications[1][2][3][4][5].
