Overview
Darolutamide is a nonsteroidal androgen receptor inhibitor used in combination with androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) for the treatment of prostate cancer, particularly metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC). It works by blocking the effects of androgens (male hormones), thereby inhibiting the growth and spread of prostate cancer cells. Darolutamide has demonstrated significant clinical benefits, including improved radiological progression-free survival and delayed progression to castration-resistant disease when combined with ADT, both with and without docetaxel chemotherapy. The drug is developed by Bayer in collaboration with Orion Corporation[1][2][7].
