Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dashamoola + Katutraya is a traditional Ayurvedic polyherbal combination consisting of two classical groups of herbs: Dashamoola (the Ten Roots) and Katutraya (also known as Trikatu, the Three Pungents). Dashamoola is a blend of roots from ten plants, including Aegle marmelos and Tribulus terrestris, renowned for their potent anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and Vata-balancing properties. Katutraya comprises Zingiber officinale (ginger), Piper nigrum (black pepper), and Piper longum (long pepper), which act as bio-enhancers and respiratory stimulants. This combination is primarily indicated for respiratory disorders such as asthma, bronchitis, and chronic cough, where it functions as an expectorant and bronchodilator. It is also used to manage fever and inflammatory joint conditions by promoting the clearance of metabolic toxins (Ama) and modulating the inflammatory response.
