Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DC-806 + carbamazepine is a combination of DC-806, an investigational oral small molecule drug being developed for the treatment of plaque psoriasis, and carbamazepine, a well-established small molecule anticonvulsant used for epilepsy, trigeminal neuralgia, and bipolar disorder. DC-806 is currently in clinical trials and is being assessed for drug-drug interactions with carbamazepine. The primary mechanism of carbamazepine is inhibition of voltage-gated sodium channels, which reduces synaptic transmission and neuronal excitability. DC-806's mechanism has not been fully published but is being investigated for its immunomodulatory or anti-inflammatory potential in psoriasis.
