DC-TC + granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor is an investigational immunotherapeutic combination composed of autologous dendritic cell-tumor cell (DC-TC) vaccines administered with granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF). The therapy is intended to optimize cancer immunotherapy by combining the antigen-presenting and immune-activating functions of dendritic cells (DCs) exposed to tumor antigens with the immune-stimulating, dendritic cell-maturing properties of GM-CSF. GM-CSF enhances the recruitment, maturation, and function of dendritic cells and creates a locally immunostimulatory environment that facilitates immune priming against tumor antigens presented by the vaccine. The combination has shown synergistic antitumor effects in preclinical models and facilitates enhanced migration, maturation, and function of dendritic cells, leading to increased antitumor immune responses. This approach is under development mainly for cancer immunotherapy, including melanoma[1].
