DCVax-L + vaccine-primed T cells is a personalized combination immunotherapy regimen developed by the University of Pennsylvania in collaboration with Northwest Biotherapeutics. The treatment consists of DCVax-L, an autologous dendritic cell vaccine pulsed with oxidized whole tumor lysate, combined with the adoptive transfer of autologous T cells that have been primed by the vaccine and expanded ex vivo using CD3/CD28 costimulation. This approach is designed to stimulate a broad immune response against multiple tumor-associated antigens present in the patient's own tumor tissue. The regimen typically includes metronomic cyclophosphamide to modulate the immune environment and enhance the efficacy of the cellular therapy. It is primarily being investigated for the treatment of recurrent epithelial ovarian carcinoma and primary peritoneal cancer.
