Overview

**ddAC + ddT** is a chemotherapy regimen used primarily for breast cancer treatment. It consists of two phases: - **ddAC**: Dose-dense Doxorubicin (Adriamycin) and Cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan), administered intravenously every 2 weeks for 4 cycles. - **ddT**: Dose-dense Paclitaxel (Taxol), given intravenously every 2 weeks for a total of 4 cycles following completion of ddAC. The regimen runs over approximately 16 weeks, with the first half involving the anthracycline and alkylating agent combination (doxorubicin and cyclophosphamide) to target rapidly dividing cancer cells by intercalating DNA and cross-linking DNA strands, respectively. This is followed by paclitaxel, a microtubule inhibitor that stabilizes microtubules preventing cell division. Pegfilgrastim or its biosimilars are often administered after each cycle to support white blood cell counts due to myelosuppression risk.
