Satalliv is an oral cannabinoid-based medicinal product containing a combination of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD). Developed by Ferraz Lynce Especialidades Farmaceuticas, it is currently being evaluated in Phase II clinical trials for the treatment of chronic neuropathic pain in patients with multiple sclerosis. The drug acts primarily through the modulation of the endocannabinoid system, where THC serves as a partial agonist of the cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2, and CBD acts as a non-competitive antagonist of CB1/CB2 receptors and a modulator of various other signaling pathways. This combination aims to provide analgesic effects while mitigating the psychoactive side effects typically associated with THC alone.
