**dendritic cell-gp100-MART-1 antigen vaccine + aldesleukin** is an experimental combination immunotherapy for malignant melanoma consisting of two main components: - **Dendritic cells** ex vivo loaded or transduced with two melanoma-associated antigens: gp100 and MART-1/Melan-A. The dendritic cells are intended to act as antigen-presenting cells, stimulating T cell–mediated immune responses specifically targeting melanoma cells expressing these antigens[2][3][4][5][6]. - **Aldesleukin** (recombinant human interleukin-2, IL-2) used to support proliferation and activation of T cells in vivo. IL-2 amplifies immune responses, especially those mediated by cytotoxic T cells. The mechanism centers on the activation of both CD8^+^ cytotoxic and CD4^+^ helper T-cell responses against melanoma cell antigens, aiming to induce tumor regression through immune-mediated cytolysis. The therapy is typically given as sequential vaccinations (intradermally) followed by systemic IL-2 administration[3][5]. Developed and evaluated mainly in academic clinical trials for advanced/metastatic melanoma, particularly in patients refractory to standard therapies.
