This autologous dendritic cell vaccine is an investigational immunotherapy developed by the Baylor Research Institute for the treatment of breast cancer, including triple-negative (TNBC) and ER+/HER2- subtypes. The vaccine is produced by collecting a patient's monocytes via apheresis, differentiating them into dendritic cells ex vivo, and loading them with specific tumor-associated antigens, including Cyclin B1 and Wilms Tumor 1 (WT1). The vaccine is administered both intratumorally and subcutaneously to stimulate the patient's immune system, specifically aiming to activate CD8+ cytotoxic T cells to recognize and destroy breast cancer cells. It has been evaluated in a pilot safety trial in combination with preoperative chemotherapy for locally advanced disease.
