Dendritic cell vaccine + cytokine-induced killer cells (DC-CIK) is an immunotherapeutic approach that combines dendritic cells (DCs) and cytokine-induced killer (CIK) cells to enhance anti-tumor immune responses. DCs function as antigen-presenting cells that capture and process tumor antigens, while CIK cells are a unique population of cytotoxic T lymphocytes with the CD3+CD56+ phenotype. When used together, DCs activate CIK cells, significantly enhancing their anti-tumor activity. This therapy is typically administered alongside conventional treatments like chemotherapy to improve clinical outcomes in cancer patients.
