This therapy is a combination immunotherapy product consisting of autologous or allogeneic dendritic cells (DCs) that have been pulsed or loaded with keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH), a highly immunogenic protein derived from the marine mollusk Megathura crenulata. Dendritic cells are potent antigen-presenting cells capable of initiating and regulating adaptive immune responses, making them central to cancer vaccine strategies. KLH serves as an immune adjuvant and model antigen, enhancing the activation and maturation of DCs, which in turn can stimulate robust T cell-mediated anti-tumor immunity. This combination is primarily investigated as a personalized cancer vaccine approach, where patient-derived DCs are exposed ex vivo to tumor antigens along with KLH before being re-administered to the patient to induce or boost anti-tumor immune responses[1][4][5]. The therapy is under clinical investigation for various malignancies.
