Depigoid + omalizumab

Depigoid + omalizumab is a combination therapy consisting of depigmented allergoid vaccine (Depigoid), used for specific immunotherapy (SIT) in allergic diseases, and omalizumab, a recombinant humanized monoclonal anti-IgE antibody. This combination has been studied primarily for the treatment of patients with seasonal allergic rhinoconjunctivitis (SAR) and co-morbid seasonal allergic asthma (SAA) that are not adequately controlled by conventional pharmacotherapy. Omalizumab binds to free IgE, preventing its interaction with IgE receptors on mast cells and basophils, thereby reducing the release of inflammatory mediators during allergic reactions. Depigoid is an allergen extract modified to reduce allergenicity while retaining immunogenicity, facilitating safer and more effective desensitization in SIT. Clinical trials have shown that this combination reduces symptom load significantly compared to SIT alone during the pollen season[1][2][3][6][7].
