This drug is a subcutaneous allergen immunotherapy (SCIT) product developed by Inmunotek S.L., consisting of a combination of polymerised allergoids from three mite species: the house dust mites *Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus* and *Dermatophagoides farinae*, and the storage mite *Lepidoglyphus destructor*. The allergens are chemically modified (polymerised) using glutaraldehyde to form allergoids, which significantly reduces their IgE-binding capacity while maintaining their ability to stimulate the immune system. This modification enhances the safety profile by reducing the risk of systemic allergic reactions during administration. The therapy is indicated for the treatment of moderate-to-severe allergic rhinitis and rhinoconjunctivitis, with or without controlled allergic asthma, in patients sensitized to these specific mites. Its mechanism of action involves the induction of peripheral immune tolerance, characterized by a shift from a Th2-type immune response to a Th1-type response, the induction of regulatory T cells (Tregs), and the production of allergen-specific blocking antibodies (IgG4), which collectively inhibit the allergic cascade upon subsequent allergen exposure.
