Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A therapeutic allergen vaccine developed by Centro Nacional de Biopreparados (BioCen) for the treatment of allergic asthma in mite-sensitized patients. It consists of an allergen extract from the house dust mite *Dermatophagoides siboney* formulated with a proteoliposome adjuvant derived from *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroup B. The adjuvant, which contains outer membrane vesicles (OMVs), is designed to enhance immune modulation by shifting the allergic Th2-driven response toward a Th1 or regulatory T-cell (Treg) profile, thereby increasing clinical tolerance to the allergen. It is currently in Phase 2 clinical development.
