Overview

DCEP is a multi-agent salvage chemotherapy regimen primarily used for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma, particularly in patients with aggressive disease or plasma cell leukemia. The regimen consists of dexamethasone (a corticosteroid), cyclophosphamide (an alkylating agent), etoposide (a topoisomerase II inhibitor), and cisplatin (a platinum-based DNA cross-linking agent). It is typically administered as a continuous intravenous infusion over four days. DCEP is often employed to rapidly reduce tumor burden before stem cell transplantation or as a bridge to other therapies such as CAR-T cell therapy or bispecific antibodies.
