Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of dexamethasone (a corticosteroid), docetaxel (a taxane chemotherapy), and ramucirumab (a VEGFR-2 inhibitor). This regimen is used primarily for the treatment of previously treated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Dexamethasone is administered as premedication to reduce adverse effects such as hypersensitivity reactions and fluid retention associated with docetaxel. The combination of docetaxel and ramucirumab has demonstrated improved overall survival and progression-free survival compared to docetaxel alone in patients with metastatic NSCLC whose disease has progressed during or after platinum-based chemotherapy.
