Overview
A combination antiemetic regimen consisting of dexamethasone (a corticosteroid), metoclopramide (a dopamine antagonist), and ondansetron (a serotonin/5-HT3 receptor antagonist). This triple therapy leverages different mechanisms of action to provide comprehensive control of nausea and vomiting. Dexamethasone enhances the antiemetic effect of other agents, metoclopramide blocks the vomiting center and promotes gastric emptying, while ondansetron blocks serotonin receptors in the gut and brain that trigger nausea and vomiting.
