Overview

This is a fixed-dose ophthalmic combination of three active ingredients: - **Dexamethasone** (a synthetic corticosteroid): Reduces ocular inflammation by suppressing the immune response and decreasing the production of inflammatory mediators. - **Pranoprofen** (a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, NSAID): Inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes, reducing prostaglandin synthesis and thereby decreasing pain and inflammation in the eye. - **Tobramycin** (an aminoglycoside antibiotic): Inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, providing broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against common ocular pathogens. This combination is used as an eye drop for treating or preventing inflammation and infection after ocular surgery or in conditions such as endophthalmitis. Clinical studies indicate that this triple therapy can more effectively reduce inflammation, improve visual recovery, and lower adverse reaction rates compared to dual combinations or other regimens[1][2]. Each component addresses a different aspect of post-surgical or infectious complications—dexamethasone for potent anti-inflammation, pranoprofen for additional anti-inflammatory/analgesic effect via a different pathway, and tobramycin for antimicrobial coverage.
