dexamethasone + sitagliptin

This is a combination of two small molecule drugs, dexamethasone and sitagliptin. Dexamethasone is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant properties, acting primarily through activation of the glucocorticoid receptor to modulate gene expression and suppress pro-inflammatory pathways. Sitagliptin is an oral antidiabetic agent that inhibits dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4), thereby increasing levels of incretin hormones such as GLP-1 and GIP, which enhance insulin secretion and decrease glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner. This combination has been studied preclinically for its effects on glucose metabolism; sitagliptin may partially counteract dexamethasone-induced hyperglycemia but does not fully prevent the metabolic disturbances caused by dexamethasone[1][6][8]. There are no approved fixed-dose combinations or marketed products containing both agents together.
