Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This combination therapy consists of dexamfetamine sulfate, a potent central nervous system stimulant, and piracetam, a nootropic agent. Developed by the Parnassia Groep in the Netherlands, it is primarily investigated as a pharmacological treatment for cocaine use disorder and opioid use disorder. Dexamfetamine acts as a substitution therapy, increasing synaptic dopamine and norepinephrine levels by promoting their release and inhibiting reuptake, thereby alleviating withdrawal symptoms and cravings. Piracetam is included to potentially mitigate cognitive impairment and provide neuroprotective effects against stimulant-induced neurotoxicity by modulating glutamatergic receptors and improving membrane fluidity.
