Overview

Hydexor is a fixed-dose combination medication consisting of dexchlorpheniramine maleate, a first-generation antihistamine, and betamethasone, a potent synthetic glucocorticoid. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of severe allergic and inflammatory conditions where dual therapy is required, such as bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis, and various inflammatory ocular disorders. Dexchlorpheniramine acts as a competitive antagonist at H1-histamine receptors, effectively reducing symptoms like pruritus, edema, and excessive secretions. Betamethasone provides powerful anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects by binding to the glucocorticoid receptor and modulating the expression of inflammatory mediators. This combination is designed to provide synergistic relief by addressing both the immediate histamine-mediated response and the underlying inflammatory process.
