Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination of three agents used in anesthesia and pain management. Bupivacaine is an amide local anesthetic that blocks nerve impulse generation and conduction by inhibiting voltage-gated sodium channels. Magnesium sulphate acts as an NMDA receptor antagonist with antinociceptive effects. Dexmedetomidine is an alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist with sedative and analgesic properties. The combination may provide enhanced and prolonged analgesia compared to individual components.
