Overview

Dextranomer + hyaluronic acid is a biocompatible injectable bulking agent consisting of dextranomer microspheres (80–250 μm) suspended in a stabilized non-animal hyaluronic acid (NASHA) gel. It is primarily indicated for the endoscopic treatment of vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) in children and fecal incontinence in adults. The hyaluronic acid gel acts as a temporary carrier that is absorbed within weeks, while the dextranomer microspheres remain at the injection site to stimulate fibroblast migration and collagen deposition. This process creates a durable, long-term tissue augmentation effect that provides a physical barrier to prevent urine backflow in VUR or augments bowel control in fecal incontinence. The product is marketed under the brand names Deflux for urological indications and Solesta for gastroenterological indications.
