This specific combination refers to a clinical regimen utilizing three distinct types of PD solutions: **dextrose-based solutions** (e.g., Dianeal), which use glucose as an osmotic agent for fluid removal; **icodextrin-based solutions** (e.g., Extraneal), which contain a glucose polymer that provides sustained ultrafiltration during long-dwell periods (such as overnight) via colloid osmosis; and **amino acid-based solutions** (e.g., Nutrineal), which replace dextrose with amino acids to provide both an osmotic gradient and nutritional support. This multi-solution approach is designed to optimize fluid balance and nutritional status in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) while helping to mitigate the protein loss and glucose-related metabolic issues (like hyperglycemia and weight gain) associated with standard PD.
