Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dezocine + flurbiprofen axetil is a fixed-dose combination of two analgesic agents used primarily for postoperative pain management. Dezocine is a synthetic mixed agonist/antagonist opioid that acts as a partial agonist at the μ-opioid receptor and κ-opioid receptor, providing potent analgesia with reduced risk of dependence compared to full opioid agonists. Flurbiprofen axetil is an injectable prodrug formulation of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) flurbiprofen, which inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes to reduce prostaglandin synthesis, thereby decreasing inflammation and pain. The combination has demonstrated superior efficacy in reducing postoperative pain and patient-controlled analgesia consumption compared to either agent alone in clinical studies involving surgical patients, such as those undergoing resectable non-small cell lung cancer surgery or colorectal surgery[1][2][3][6]. Both drugs are administered intravenously for perioperative or postoperative analgesia.
