Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Osicare Plus is a fixed-dose combination tablet containing diacerein and glucosamine (specifically glucosamine sulfate potassium chloride) developed by Systopic Laboratories for the management of osteoarthritis and bone and joint injuries such as fractures. Diacerein is an anthraquinone derivative that acts as a symptomatic slow-acting drug in osteoarthritis (SYSADOA) by inhibiting interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) synthesis and signaling, thereby reducing joint inflammation and cartilage degradation. Glucosamine is an amino monosaccharide that serves as an essential precursor for glycosaminoglycan and proteoglycan synthesis, supporting cartilage matrix maintenance and joint lubrication. Together, these components work synergistically to alleviate joint pain, reduce swelling, and improve physical mobility in patients with osteoarthritis.
